Lots of bloggers/Instagrammers I follow raved about Coco Bakes, a small-batch bakery in LA that specializes in GF vegan sourdough. I have found a couple brands ( Little Northern Bakehouse and O’Dough’s bagels) that are available at Sprouts that are pretty decent, but I was craving real bread, ya know, not just sandwich slices or bagel thins.

Go figure! I pretty much eat almost entirely gluten free when I’m at home, not because I’m celiac or have been diagnosed with an intolerance, but I just feel better when I avoid wheat (however, I’m down to enjoy gluten when I go out to eat, since I typically only eat out once a week, and sometimes I still seek out GF options if that appeals to me at the time) so it’s hard to find GF bread that’s also vegan and tastes good. Summer is my fav season by far so I can’t wait!īut before we look ahead to the next few months, let’s rewind to April and check out some of the best products I discovered last month!īread has been one of my biggest fear foods since my eating disorder but it’s also been one of the foods I enjoy the most.

This is the third in a series of posts highlighting my favorite product finds each month.Ĭan you believe we’re already more than a third of the way through 2019? Christmas feels like it was forever ago at this point but I still can’t believe how fast this year is flying! I’m not complaining, though, as I have some great things to look forward to this summer (including my golden birthday). So I got a Tiffany blue-esque shade called Ibiza Breeze. I had already bought the “Sun Has Set” color (a hot pink) a couple of months back, but I wear pink and purple polishes a lot and wanted to change things up. However, it had been awhile since I had gotten any new nail polishes and with many of mine drying up (most of them are Julep polishes I got in my subscription box from 2+ years ago), I needed to invest in some new colors.įinding high quality, cruelty free and vegan polishes isn’t easy, but Target has been expanding their selection and I’ve been digging the brand Ella + Mila. I have almost always done my nails at home myself, so the coronavirus didn’t change my manicure routine. Now running is super popular and one of the most accessible sports, thanks to Jim Fixx!ģ) Ella + Mila Nail Polish in Ibiza Breeze It was so interesting to me to read that back in the 1960s, people actually thought running was bad for you! Running is such a natural, human form of movement that it’s crazy that it was ever thought to be dangerous and unhealthy. It all really started with Jim Fixx, an editor who got sick of his sedentary lifestyle and took up running for fun and health reasons. This article was a super intriguing look at the beginnings of the recreational running movement. If you were a Kona Cola fan back in the day, STOCK UP NOW!Ģ) Running in the Age of Coronavirus Article in Sports Illustrated The flavor isn’t quite as strong as I remember it, but it’s still something I crave during a hot, sweaty run. And I will probably buy even more, because it’s a limited edition flavor and it might disappear again. It took me until last year to find a suitable replacement (Science in Sport offers a similar cola-flavored electrolyte tablet) but I always wondered if Nuun would bring back the Kona Cola.Īnd…they did! When I found out they were re-releasing it, I went a lil crazy and bought 4 tubes. It tasted like a flat Coke and was incredibly refreshing to drink mid-run.Īnd then, shortly after discovering it, Nuun discontinued it ? I had hoarded a few tubes but once they were done, they were donezo and I was sad. This was around the time they offered the very popular Kona Cola flavor and once I tried it, I was hooked. I’ve been a huge Nuun fan since about 2016 - when I moved to Tucson, I realized that the desert heat would necessitate running with water, and also electrolytes to replenish the salt I lose through sweating. I’ve got some fun finds to share with you, so let’s get to it! But I do plan to use my long weekend to explore new trails that are further away than I can usually get to during the week! I wish I could be using these extra days off to go on day trips out of town, but that doesn’t seem to be in the cards right now due to the pandemic. Happy Friyay! As you probably know, I have off on Fridays through July due to my summer work schedule, but this weekend is even longer because I took PTO on Thursday and Monday.
